Came across these in the local Compusmart store. I couldn't get the media code but the packaging states 'made in Taiwan'. Has anyone come across these disks and tried them? Any info on them..media code etc. They are selling for $29.99 for 50.
Thanks.

RITEKG05. Don't bother. If you want some real Maxell media, check out the Maxell PLUS 8x DVD-R inkjet printables. Premium-grade Made in Japan MXLRG03.

Thanks for the info on the Maxell Plus, I'll check them out.
Question - why do you say don't bother with Ritek G05? I just finished using 50 RiData's and they were Ritek G05 and I found them to be excellent. 3 bad disks in the pack and the rest all played in all my dvd players. I have a picky Toshiba model that won't play certain disks. These disks also played in a PS2 when many disks don't. Just asking that's all. -
The Made in Taiwan Maxell Hub Printable 8x DVDs that I've found were all CMC Mag. Even worse than the G05. Speaking of which, I have been using the Ridata 8x -R & +R the last couple of months and they seem to have addressed some of the quality control problems that were plaguing them the last year or so. No coasters in the last couple hundred. Longevity......... we'll see. No problems with anything burnt in December, yet.

You consider 3 out of 50 ok? I have never had a coaster with over 300+ dvds. I would be pissed if I ever got a coaster.....using Verbatim MCC white hub printables

My previous spindle of 50 were the Verbatim hub printables. I got 50 perfect burns..however these disks will not play in one of my dvd players nor in a PS2. I made the switch to RiData, 3 coasters but the other 47 play in everything we have. I guess it's a trade off. The RiData's were cheaper therefore losing 3 didn't matter.

I note you used the +r Verbatims, I used the -r. Maybe I should try the +r and see if that makes a difference.
