    I am trying to convert a WMV format file to Xvid, I keep getting errors of this type:

    Encoding started on Sun May 7 20:05:34 PDT 2006
    FFmpeg version CVS, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
    Mac OSX universal build for ffmpegX
    libavutil version: 49.0.0
    libavcodec version: 51.9.0
    libavformat version: 50.4.0
    Seems that stream 1 comes from film source: 1000.00 (1000/1) -> 29.97 (30000/1001)
    Input #0, asf, from '/Users/tonylane/Desktop/JHJ - Joy Of Love.wmv':
    Duration: 00:11:09.9, start: 5.000000, bitrate: 974 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Audio: wmav2, 44100 Hz, stereo, 128 kb/s
    Stream #0.1, 29.97 fps(r): Video: WMV3 / 0x33564D57, 640x360
    Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.0 -> #0.0

    Is there some codec I have to add to the pack?
    TIA!

    Tony

    Nope. Tried various choices. Here's an example:

    FFmpeg version CVS, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
    Mac OSX universal build for ffmpegX
    libavutil version: 49.0.0
    libavcodec version: 51.9.0
    libavformat version: 50.4.0
    Seems that stream 1 comes from film source: 1000.00 (1000/1) -> 29.97 (30000/1001)
    Mon May 8 06:59:26 PDT 2006
    from '/Users/tonylane/Desktop/JHJ - Joy Of Love.wmv':
    Duration: 00:11:09.9, start: 5.000000, bitrate: 974 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Audio: wmav2, 44100 Hz, stereo, 128 kb/s
    Stream #0.1, 29.97 fps(r): Video: WMV3 / 0x33564D57, 640x360
    Output #0, avi, to '/Users/tonylane/Desktop/JHJ - Joy Of Love.wmv.ff.avi':
    Stream #0.0, 29.97 fps(c): Video: xvid, 640x352, q=2-9, 1022 kb/s
    Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, stereo, 128 kb/s
    Stream mapping:
    Stream #0.1 -> #0.0 [sync #0.0]
    Stream #0.0 -> #0.1 [sync #0.1]
    Unsupported codec (id=74) for input stream #0.1

    Where do I find a supported codec?

  4. WMV3 video is not supported. Use Flip4Mac codecs for MicroStuff.

    Sorry, I don't understand. Could you explain a bit more. I have FLip For Mac.

  6. If you have flip4mac installed, then enable "Decode with Quicktime", or convert first the movie by using Quicktime Player and then convert back the result by using ffmpegX.

    Did that but had to add the sound from the WMV file. The video quality was pretty bad on the conversion. The video on the original was good.
