"No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format"
    (source format tag: 0055)

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Or you can drop it into Gspot 2.52 and see what codec you are missing. I suspect MP3, though VD should have read that. If it's MP3 you can install Lame MP3 and see if VD reads it then.

    And welcome to our forums.

I installed Lame MP3 as you suggested, I am still getting the same error. I have attached a copy of the Gspot file. Do you have any more suggestions other than Goldwave?.

    Thanks

Update your g-spot to the latest 2.52b Beta version - you will get more accurate and more detailed results.

You have managed to obscure the most important part of the g-spot screen, however the few characters that are visible look similar to another post (that I can't find at the moment) where goldwave was the solution.

LAME ACM doesn't include a working decoder. Basically certain avi headers cause the problem with VDub and mp3 decoding. In such cases you can have an mp3 decoder installed and still get that error.
