So my resume is all sorts of off at this point. I've had a lot of jobs over the years until about 6 years ago, some started off through temp agencies and went permanent, some direct in. The problem is half the temp agencies of the 90s are no longer around, or I can't even remember their names. Also I'm horrible with dates.![]()
The effect is my resume is wild guesses at best, and in at least one case a date discrepancy has cost me a job.
How the hell would you fix something like this short of paying to run a background check on myself?

How many jobs are you putting on the resume? I've always been instructed ever since highschool that you only include the last three you've had with further info available on request.

One of the credit bureau credit reports, I forget which one, does (or at least did) record who paid you. Two of my last three employers are listed with dates. I never could understand why that was even on there. I guess the companies reported me.

Check your old tax returns.
