  1. I didnt know what section to post this so i posted it here.

I have a Lexmark PrinTrio Photo Printer that allows me to do alot of things including using Digi Cards to upload pictures from my Digi Cam. The problem I have and have been having for quite sometime is that I insert my Digi Card and nothing happens, a blue light flashes on and off which is about it. Why won't the pictures start to copy to my computer?

Ive done this before and it has worked a few times in which a box pops up and automaticly says if I want to copy my pictures and I say Yes. But a question I have is why is this so random? I can never tell when it will work and when it won't! Is it the printer that is causing the problem or my Digi Card?

I almost tried to open up the Digi Card from my computer and it said "This Disk has yet to be formatted, would u like to?" and I said no because I dont want any of the pictures to be erased!

thx in advance for replying and helping!

I would delete your printer driver and re-install it to see if that helps. You might check the printer manufacturers site and see if they have a newer version also.

Do you have more that one digital card? If so do they all do that? Have you ever re- formatted the card?

I hadn't looked around in a while for solutions to this type of problem and now I see some utilities for flashcard data recovery. Here's a few freeware ones: http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.html Scroll down the page a bit to 'PC Inspector Smart Recovery' and it might work for you. There may be other programs there or in the shareware areas that could also help.

Alternately, do a Google search for "Flashcard data recovery" and you should come up with a few more. Flash cards, just like USB thumb drives can get corrupted by power failure during writes, or other problems. You may need to reformat them occasionally. If it happens more often with a particular card, replace the card. Some cards have a 'write protect' switch on them also that must be off to reformat or write.
