Hello i have a JVC GR-D90U camra and i had recorded a class project on it. Now i need to put it onto my computer so i can put it on a cd to present it to the class. The problem i am having is putting it on my computer. i have installed the software that came with the camra but when i plug it into my USB port their is a box that pops up and says that an error occured when connecting...

This is what i do: (already put the software on the computer) 1st i plug in the USB cord into the camra then in the computer. i then open the program that it gives me to put the video onto my computer. Then i turn it on and the box with the error connected comes up and nothing happens.

i have never done this before. So i was wondering what i was doing wrong. and if someone can help me.

I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled the software.

Thank you so much for your help!!! Have a good one...

Is this a class project or are you doing this on your own? If a class project, you should be asking your instructor for assistance.

I'll give you this hint. The JVC GR-D90U is a MiniDV camcorder. As such it transfers over the IEEE-1394 (aka Firewire or ILink) port, not USB. I probably shouldn't have told you this. The instructor probably wanted you to READ THE MANUAL or Google JVC GR-D90U.

PS: Sorry if you are doing this as a volunteer project. If a class project, you are expected to figure it out.

well i dont understand this because it has a USB connector with it. this is also a class project and its not something like hes testing us to see how to use it and what not he just gave us an option to speak infront of the class or do it on video and the people in my group do not like talking infront of class. This is a camra i have brought from home that my parents just got.

whould you have any ideals that i can do to get this on the computer? thanks for your help...

The USB port is for stills and maybe for webstreaming. You need a IEEE-1394 interface on the computer and a cable to get high quality video.

    cable examples

If your computer doesn't have an IEEE-1394 port, you can add one as a PCI card or PC card. Install is easy with XP.

As for public speaking try these guys

You need to fix your fear of public speaking if you want to get anywhere.

BTW, What software will you use to edit?

i didnt need to edit it was only a 15 min presentation so we went right through it. when we present at school we do it through a computer then it sends it to a prjector that throws it up on the wall. idk Thanks for breaking it down for me.

Sorry for the tough love treatment. You came to the right place for videohelp but you need to tighten your act.

You need to state your problem clearly. You need to pay attention to spelling ( I should talk ) and you should say what you expect to do next. We can guide you but will not do it for you.

After all, your US high school reputation is in tatters after this
