ok maybe someones experienced this and can help me out..

its nothing to do with my mouse messing up because it works perfectly fine at times, its just sometimes while browsing....my mouse cursor the speed of it, tremedously slows down, i have no idea what causes it or why it happens - and was wondering if someone maybe knew

for instance right now it's working normally the cursor moving around, with this page open/maximized....but if i minimize it and say go to my desktop to open a folder the whole speed of it just slows down tremedously (almost as if its wireless and im running out of batterys or some sort)

any ideas as to what it could be ?

  3. What kind of mouse do you have? If it is a ball mouse, have you removed the ball and cleanded out the conections. I found that every so often mine would clog up with gunk. If it is a laser mouse have you tried cleaning the laser underneath? What kind of mouse pad do you have? Is it worn or dirty?

Hope this helps, if not post back.

it is laser and it's really weird, while browsing online like now it moves at normal speed and is fine..

but when i minimize and go to my desktop, the speed all of a sudden gets sluggish? i have no idea what it is

and i doubt it's anything to do with it being dirty or my mousepad cause like i said right now its working good until i minimize my browser and am on the desktop (or inside a folder)

    btw - it's a logitech mouse i have

i noticed it barely started working properly, when i opened my logitech mouse properties and ran through the settings and hit apply, i have no idea why i needed to do this..

and also i have my third mouse button (the weel) set to go 'back' a page, and that also periodically stops working

i think optical mouse devices need a special mouse pad or surface to work best. using any old surface or pad might give problems.

I found that is true! My optical mouse doesn't like cardboard or those types
of paper. It also skips on some plywood. My mousepad has a semi-hard
    plastic surface.

But his cursor only slows down occasionally. Might be a virus. He could
scan his PC at PCPitstop for viruses.

    Just a thought!
