    is there any program that identifys DVDs, like gspot identifys info about avi's?

    audio/video and so on...

    DVDDecrypter or smartripper both have stream processing modes which tell you the basics about the DVD. The latest GSpot Beta (V2.52) will work on VOB files directly though.

    and incase its info on the dvd itself not the audio/video on the dvd then try dvdinfo pro
