I need some advice. I am looking for a tool that will allow me to burn a DVD that contains my photos (about 150 jpgs) and I can add multiple mp3 music. It should be able to do the pan and scan (e.g. muvee-type) automatically and have good transition capabilities. I have Memories OnTv version 2 that was alright, but I could not produce DVDs. I understand if I could find the mpeg2 plugin for it, the time to generate a DVD is enormous. I also have Nero 6, but there is a limitation on how many pictures can fit within a section and it does not do pan and scan.
My end goal is to produce a video with music to be shown at my daughter's wedding for about an hour. I know that 150 pictures at 5 sec/picture with transitions is around 15 minutes. I guess I have to duplicate all the pictures 4 times to produce an hour of video. I really need it to loop, but an hour would be fine.
What would be a good product that is free? or less than $50?

Hi ,
Welcome to the forums.
You'll find a link on the left side to the "Tools" section, a search in there for "slideshow" will return many useful results.
Good luck.There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

I tried this tool recently. It's a freeware. Please give it try.

I've been using ProShow Gold for years and have no problem suggesting it.
It produces DVDs itself and I think it even lets you loop. But I'm not sure about that since I use DVD-Lab to make my DVDs. I know that that will loop fine.
Otherwise, you can copy and paste within and between shows so you can make one BIG show.
Render times for my machine tend to turn out to be around 5x the length of the show because I use motion. A 1-hour show will take 5 hours to render but the quality is AMAZING. -
You leave out some really important info that would help us make a recommendation. What skills do you already have ? Can you make a DVD from an AVI file ? Know how to use a MPEG encoder ? Know how to burn to a disc ?
Forget about all in one products, if you want free. Free? Use Slideshow Maker to make your AVI, TMPGEnc to encode, TMPGauthor(trial) to author, IMGTOOL to make an ISO, DVDDecrypter to burn. DO some homework & download some guides for all this if you are a newbie.
Good luck. -
ProShow Gold is very good, but costs $70 - more than any other like program.
DVD Pixplay is $29.50 does all you require and has an easy to use interface, it's the one I bought and use all the time. -
Memoriesontv is still a nice little program. You can make it loop like you wanted. Also you can download the Mpeg2 from their support page here;
