    Hi,

Whenever I play an XVID video I get the msg thats says Windows Explorer encountered a problem and has to shut down. So then Win Explorer shuts down but the video does keep playing. Does anyone know how to fix this problem. I use Win XP.

    thanks

    regsvr32.exe /u shmedia.dll

That should fix it, since chances are it is caused by XP's buggy thumbnail shell extension.

    If it doesn't help:
    regsvr32.exe shmedia.dll
and you are back to normal.

Start button, then Run. In the field type regsvr32.exe /u shmedia.dll and click OK.

Test to see if the problem is fixed. If not, repeat, but this time type regsvr32.exe shmedia.dll and click OK
