    Hi, All

    I have some DV Files in 4:3 Letterbox that Plays Back In 16:9 In WMP but if i play
    4:3 Full screen DV file they play in 4:3 is there any way to make windows media
    play stop doing this! thanks

    Check it with g-spot of avicodec or mediainfo. The DV file might actually be tagged as 16:9, in which case you will have to change the header to 4:3 for it to display correctly.

    I just check the AVI in Winamp and it plays OK, in the right aspect ratio



    and as you can see Windows can see the AVI in the same way! so why can't Windows
    Media Player play them the right ratio.?

    Because WMP is a very average player ?

    Personally I use VLC. I suspect that in this case WMP is trying to be too clever and interpreting the video incorrectly.

    The Funny thing is, if i run the AVI's in Vegas 6c and edit them back to AVI UnComp,
    Windows Media Player with play them fine!

    Could this have something to do with the codecs on my Laptop!
