I have just setup a Hauppauge HVR 1300 tuner/capture card in my PC (AMD Sempron 3300 1GB Ram XP Media Centre)
When I capture using Virtual Dub (1.5.10.2) using YUY2 or RGB 24 codec I get dropped frames (about 30%) I have tried turning Overlay off and disabling everything I can but I still get dropped frames. Also I can only capture in 320x240, if I try any higher resolution I get an error message “Error 478 Unsupported Video Format”.
When I use Nero Vision Express 3, I can capture at 720x576 in either avi or Mpeg 2 and don’t get any dropped frames.
Any idea’s why it will work in Nero and not in Virtual Dub
