Sorry if this has been posted before.

I have 4 avi eps with hard subs and a DVD of the same 4 eps with no subs (Japanese).
The DVD can be ep selectable or play all, so I assume it's one big file.
What I want to do is write my own srt file from the eps and transfer it onto the DVD.
Which is the best software to do this? I am looking for something that shows the screen when I am adding the subs so I can play the avi alongside it and syncronize them.

It's NOT one big file. It's just a different PGC. (different control sequence)

Actually the easiest way to do is you can rip the hardsub with SubRip into SRT, fix up any spelling and stuff, then sync it with your DVD. Though you MAY want to rip the DVD to AVI first, as it's much easier to play with subtitles along with an AVI file than the DVD. Once you got it right, THEN you can feed the adjusted SRT's into the authoring program.
