I am trying to code RMVB to AVI,or actually anything that toast 7 will recognize and burn so I can play on a stand alone DVD player. I have gone through the other posts but they don't help me.

    - I have macX 10.4.6
    - Currently I am running ffmpeg 0.0.9u with installed binaries 20051201-2O
    - My copy is registered
    optional install--
    - unable to use first link http://forms.helixcommunity.org/helix/builds/?category=helixdnaclient
so I downloaded the stable build from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mplayerosx/reallib.zip?download
File copied into application support/ffmegx/ and renamed folder as "reallib"

When I drag and drop RMVB Source format shows the Video and audio which looks promising. I am unable touse "play" feature. I get a exc_bad_access (0x0001) KERN PROTECTION FAILURE and mplayer quits. Mplayer does play my other files fine

I have also renamed file RM, no luck. Encoding doesn't work, just processes for a few seconds and then "dings" finished.

I have also tried to convert RMVN file to DVD MPEG2ENC and then changed to "Decode with mplayer" and I get a SOURCE FILENAME ERROR- Please remove spaces and special characters from your source filename and folder names. (I read to do this in another post) The only space I can find is "Application support" so I changed that and I had to re-install all the binarys again so I am sure thats not it.

Anyway I am sure my problems lies somewhere in the beginning with the Reallibs install since it won't play.

I have been at this for quite awhile, weeks in fact and I hate asking for help.

ffmpegX is a awsome product. I think its the only thing that converts RMVB fles, if I am wrong please let me know. LOL

Thanks in advance for any help

The ZIP file of the stable build extracts into a folder already named "reallib". Did you copy that folder (not the zip file) into [Startup disk name]/Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/ ? Does your "reallib" folder contain 47 items?

    Thanks for the reply.

I did some of this a few days ago so yes (didn't rename, my mistake) the file was already named reallib.
    - I did copy the folder and not the zip file
    - The folder contains 47 items
    - I am sure its in the right directory, I am under the impression that the Video and audio in the source format would be blank if it was in the wrong directory.

    Maybe I need the ffmpegXbinaries2006?

    Thanks alot

Any Real files among those other files? I.e. can you verify if mplayer plays any other Real media content or that it is one-file-specific?

-The other files that play with "play" feature are AVI files, I just tried a MPEG file and that doesn't work. I get what I used to get when I draged the RMVB file into source format-- Video=no video/Audio=No audio.

    - If I only have the one RMVB file to use so I don't know if it is one file specific.

    Thanks again for your help
