I've summarised the infomation in this forum to assist my repairing for DMR E60:
Observation:Intermittent show "Unformat"" disk Error DVD-RAM even loading a new formatted DVD-RAM.
Steps:
Use a CD clean disk in the 1st place without making any possible damage to your recorder (if you dare to fix it by yourselves
).
Get yourself a screwdriver but no need any soldering tools, thanks.
Dissemble the recorders and the drive-unit, clean the lens and add grease on 3 tracks of the lens drive.
Conclusion:My DMR E60 GH manage to restore to healthy condition:
No disk load "unformat" error;
No long loading time;
No schedule time-record fail as the disk can be load probably.
Intermittent read error is somewhat related to Mechanical Error. Try to recondition the unit.
Remark:
Replacement for the DVD-RAM drive is nonsense as Panasonics sell the drive almost same the Recorder.
