  1. Hi everyone, I tried this once and it didnt work. I have a pretty recent RCA stand alone dvd Recorder. I would like to transfer video files on my pc to a dvd recordable using the dvd recorder. I have an ATI 9200 128 meg vid card with video out and I have the converter for my audio from my pc to RCA audio cables to go to the DVD recorder. How would I record? I appreciate any help you guys and girls can give me. Thanks.

Hi- if I understand your question right, look at it this way...

the computer is your video source, just like a camcorder or VCR; so check into its output config: are you actually sending video out? you can check this with a VCR just as well as with a DVD recorder, you might have options that need to be set differently. Some cards output A/V, S-video, and RF (ch3-4) in 2 flavors- NTSC & PAL (you can use both on many DVD recorders). You can also check your outputs with a component TV.

If you are getting good output, then check for the 'usual suspects': bad cables, misconnected cables, and copy-protected files.

The RCA DVD recorder will act just like a VCR as far as inputs- you can get in thru the tuner, the A/V plugs, S-video, mebbe also DV in & optical, so you have to set your input type. Again you can experiment with a VCR, camcorder, digital camera- any other source substituted to narrow the problem.

    hope this gets you going!
