    Hi all,

I've finished authoring a DVD using Maestro that ended up bigger than 9 GB, so I used DVD-RB Pro to make it fit onto a dual layer disc, so now I have a VIDEO_TS folder with the shrinked disc, but....

The layer break hasn't been specified, I know where I want to place it, it's a musical DVD and the break can't be put aleatory by Decrypter or so, I NEED to specify the break point.

But how to do that ?

For those that knows Maestro, I thought that, after shrinking the disc, I could point the VIDEO_TS folder to the program and, when trying to create the Image file, I would have the choice to choose the layer breah - like I do with my Maestro authored DVDs that needs no shrinking, but when I do that Maestro says that the folder I've chosen isn't a valid source

I've seen that DVDDecrypter allows me to choose the layer break point in L0 sectors, and I know the chapter that I want it to be, but how can I associate the instant in time with the L0 sector ?

I'm pretty sure Ifoedit would allow me to specify the layer break point, but I'm dumb on that program, looking at the guides already but with no lucky

Any help would be very apreciated,

    many thanks,

    Zetti

Try PgcEdit. When you go to create an ISO file, this program will try to find the best place to put the layer break. It's always worked for me.

    Hi !

I think it worked, THANKS !

I still have a doubt though, I've chosen to write the data to a ISO image at my hard disc, not to blank media yet - I wanna preview it at my Computer first,

PgcEdit said that the Layer break has been put at the desired point, OK !

...But...when I will actually burn the ISO to blankmedia using ImgBurn, will it respect the Layer break that I suppose is embeddeed onto the ISO image or will it calculate a new (undesirable) one ?
I am in doubt cause I've seen that the ImgBurn has a setting where the user must set the layer break point, either the user must specify the length of sectors OR imgburn says that it will calculate the "optimal" point...

Maybe the best bet would be to start PgcEdit again, choose again the layer break and burn ONTO media directly ! :P

    MANY THANKS !

You can view it in DVD Shrink. Go to FILE, then choose Open Disc Image or you can use Daemon Tools.

    Hi rvelez,

First of all, THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
Well, I'm a bit confused, do you mean that I can view the embedded LB point in the ISO image using DVDShrink ?

I've followed your instructions but I couldn't find the option to view the LB in Shrink...

I always have the policy of burning the ISO images to the HD first, then, on a later time, I burn to media, also, I need to keep the ISO's as back up's.
As far as I understood, using ImgBurn to actually burn ONTO MEDIA the ISO images that have been previously created using PgcEdit will RESPECT the position of the LB embedded onto the ISO file, right ?

Do I at any point get the risk of having ImgBurn (Or DVD Decrypter) overwriting my original LB point ?

    Many thanks,

    Zetti

You can view the layer in PgcEdit. This progran is very good at finding a suitable break.
