I simply wish to record certain minutes of video out of one video tape onto a blank video tape.

I'm just a bit at sea about video tape to video tape recording using a normal video player & wonder if someone can simply confirm if I'm right with my assumption.

These 2 video players are normal video players having 2 scart leads at the back.

Am I right assuming that I simply need connecting:

    >> 1st Scart Lead: "Video Player 1" to TV
    >> 2nd Scart Lead: "Video Player 2" to "Video Player 1"

Afterwards, all I presume is simply play the tape in "Video Player 1" (which is connected to TV through 1st scart lead).

Then once I press play button on "Video Player 1" (which is connected to TV using 1st Scart Lead), I simply need to press "Record" on "Video Player 2" having blank tape in it (i.e. "Video Player 2" which is connected to the "Video Player 1")

Once I record, I simply need taking the blank tape out of "Video Player 2" & insert it in "Video Player 1" & see whether the movie clip got recorded or not.

Do correct me if I'm wrong.
Nope, I'm NOT God, but I'm British (which is the next best thing ;) !!!

  2. I'd have the first video player pluged in to the second video recorder and a TV pluged into the second player for monitoring.
You don't say what decks you have but your calling both of them players and one needs to be able to record.
Scart is the way to connect your components so you should be set.
On the recorder you need to select the scart in and if given a choice select s-video rather then composite.
