ISO is a type of disc image like bin/cue. You can then either mount the image or burn with your burning app.

does that mean it burns images like pictures? I just want to copy the entire movie on a dvd-r

You probably don't need the ISO image if your goal is to create a DVD-R. Just select your burning drive as the target backup location.

No. It is a copy or "image". Basically it is a complete copy of the disc, but in a computer file format. You can mount the image from your pc or burn it to disc.

If i want to burn King King, why would I make it into ISO, then burn onto dvd-r? Wouldnt I just select dvdrw drive and burn the movie to dvd-r?
How come I cannot use Nero to burn entire disc? Why do I need to use DVD Shrink? Arent they all 4.7 gigs? -
AFAIK choosing your burner means it will try to automatically burn with Nero. If you choose ISO Image, then you can burn with ANY burning software that accepts ISO Images, or you can choose ISO Image and burn with DVDDecrypter, which naturally burns with DVDDecrypter.Originally Posted by jyeh74
The ISO file is basically exactly the same as outputting to VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your hard drive, except that it's all bundled into one file and you don't need to choose a template or anything in your burning software - just an alternative method to reaching the exact same destination as hard disk folders or choosing your burner directly. If in doubt, Google it. -
If you only have one drive, then you have to make an image onto the HD, THEN burn the image to the blank media.

The option that I prefer to use. I've seen too many DVD coasters burnt by others with Nero and the only one that I tried to burn was a coaster.or you can choose ISO Image and burn with DVDDecrypter
