I was wondering if there's a program out there that can detect when a file is streaming onto my computer, and tell me where the source of it is coming from? Thanks alot

I use a utility called TaskInfo that can give you real-time network connection details of all apps running on your machine. Assuming you mean a web-stream, select the browser (or player) app on the left tree & the Connections tab on the lower-right will give you the remote IP & port in use
