Alright. This is the third time I am going to download ALL the programs into my special folder so ALL my programs used are in the SAME folder. So, I am going to make sure I get it right this time.(God, PLEASE!)

I am going step by step thru Sefy's guide and d/l ing all my stuff again. I am at the dvd2avi site. It lists a "current" and a "source code". What is the difference, and which is what I want, because I have no idea what the hell that means.

Master Sefy, if you see this, I am sorry. I have tried and tried, and actually could do the whole process by heart at this point. I continue to run into problems. Obviously, I have not downloaded the stuff correctly.
Only burning rubber on my forehead,
    Tracey

Have you managed to get ICQ ? i'm thinking of making a special package just for you, so it will install all the things in a working condition, so whatever happens that doesn't work, you can blame me for it

My Beloved Master Sefy and Master Pinoy,

I am ashamed to have had to do this again, let alone admit it by asking for help....again. I found a checklist in the "search" that Truman made in reply to someone that was having the same problems. That helped out. I am checking it twice and I promise I'm nice!

I've always known the plugins weren't correctly done, I just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I believe the more practice you get, the better. Well, my husband says so. lol.

As for a Package Deal of some kind, I am all for you doing that for the future nimwits like myself. I will let you guys know if I have successfully d/l'd the stuff and make progress. I swear by now that I could do the whole taco by memory, seriously. Truly sad, huh? Master Pinoy thanks for the explanation given.

BTW, I DID sign up for ICQ and my # is 144310712. Tah-daaaah! I haven't had time to read how to use it and what it does since I am obsessed with turning into a butterfly. I promise to you that I will do that soon, though!
    xxx and ooo,
    Tracey-San

  7. Tracey-San, I just added you as well, but I would need your authorization to be able to see you, as soon as you show up online i'll send you a working package of TMPGEnc+DVD2AVI+VFP and any other small little tools you may need

And you should never be ashamed to ask for help, no one is a genius (well, maybe Speedy, he does have 30 years of experience in nothing!) and we will all try to help you out, and I doubt any one here will give up till you make your first working VCD or SVCD

  8. what a refreshingly pleasant change from some of the newbie bashing that other members engage in. It just goes to show that patience and flatery can get you anywhere
