  1. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio-Platinum Edition...
What I wanna do is superimpose an individual from one scene on to a different background from another scene. Like what the opening credit scenes looks like on Smallville when each actor is introduced...
Does anyone know what plug-in or software I can use to do that and where I can get it at?

If you mean like the weather man does, trhen you need to shoot each person in fromnt of a very even green or blue background and use Chromakey. This will blank out the background allowing the new background video or image to show through. There are adjustement to get the color parameters and possible spillover that might affect shadows and such.

  3. I already have the video clips...I wanna take the clips that I already have instead of shooting a new with with all that. Is there a way to do it using the clips I already have?

roto-masking around each person, animating the mask with each frame. Time consuming. You might be able to do it with wax2 or ZS4, otherwise something like After Effects is your best bet.

Or you can shoot in front of a green screen.

It would be less work to reshoot infront of a Green or Blue wall. It is almost automatic after that once you tweek your Chroma Key plug in effect.

You know that, and I know that, but he doesn't want to re-shoot. I am always happy for others to learn the hard way if they want to.

Well now, unless he has only a couple of seconds x30 / second to roto-mask around each person he is going to have to reshoot the proper way. The mask with change shape slightly on every frame as well. That should be a load of fun. Even if it is only 30 seconds that would be 900 frames to mask!!!!

Knock yourself out if you must. I would re-shoot! My time is too valuable to be stubborn

And I'll add -- test the process with stand-ins before you pull the real people back. They won't want to do it a third time.

Back in the days of optical printing and no computers, that was how it was done.
