Hello people, is there a simple way to convert a pair of OGG files to AVI/MEPG/DVD? I have this video I want to put on a DVD so I could play it on my DVD player, but I'm a little stumped. I don't care about the subtitles or anything, I just want the main movie. I'm also trying not to convert many times so I don't loose quality.

Another slight problem is the video has a few seconds that overlap on both clips. TMEPG has something to chop that off/put them together, right? So is there a way to conver to MPEG or import into TMEPG? Once in this format, I have software to convert MEPGs to DVDs and all, I just have to get beyond OGG.

OR...another idea I had but I'd rather not... I do have a DVD recorder, and could just play from my system and record. My problem, though, is that there's that overlay, so I can't get a nice playback without the repeat...

    Thanks for any help...

First: Are you sure what you're trying to convert are movies? .OGG files should be audio-only, .OGM files are video (and audio, of course )

I think SUPER can do a simple conversion of OGM movies. If the movies have more than one audio track (such as more than one language), and/or subtitles, a more advanced conversion (where you'll have to choose the streams you want) might need to be done using something like VirtualDubMod - or, if you don't mind using the command-line, mencoder or ffmpeg. (if I remember correctly... I can't recall for sure how much ffmpeg supports OGM.)

There are other utilities, of course... it wouldn't hurt to spend some time looking around the Tools section, in the menu to the left. ^_^

Yeah, I think you're right. I'm actually very knowlegable about videos and such, but I typically just stick with DV and DVD formats :P

Thanks for the suggestions...I will try them now.

ogg does actually support video, in the form of theora. ogg can contain vorbis, flac, speex or theora. Still I agree the file is an ogm.

It's probably OGM... I'd changed the extension to try something so I couldn't recall what it was. I'd also never used that format...as I mentioned I typically just make my own stuff.

Anyway, SUPER seems to work just fine, many thanks. I've not actually converted the videos fully, but I've done partial conversions and they were able to import to TMPEG's DVD Author. Which, brings up another question. I'll probably just make a new post for it. Thanks again!
