Ok
Im using virtualdub mpeg2 for everything, and the slow video happens when I put it on my archos, it plays fine on my lappy. Im sorry, Ive really jumped from program to program to get my video to work well.
So virtualdub mpeg2 is what I got now, and lets try and work with this one. Are their any codecs better than divx pro 5.2.1 that I should be using or any better sound codecs that I should be using for my audio, Im using Lame.

Oh, it plays fine in software but slow on the Archos? So it's something in the settings, most likely, that the Archos doesn't like. I don't know if you're encoding to the Home Theater Profile or not, but you should be, as it's most compatible with hardware players. Other than that, I can only suggest trying XviD. Lame is good, and DivX 5.2 is, well, decent, I guess.
But I'm sorry that I know nothing about these players, and have never studied up on them and their quirks. You do know that there's a Portable Video forum here, don't you:

Wow, well thanks to you manono Ive successfully fixed my video playback, it was exactly that. It was because I was not encoding to the Home Theater Profile. Well thats finally fixed. As for chicken little I will probably have to try what you said, either decrypt with dvddecrypter then run through vobblanker, then it should have completly removed all the unregistered cells correct, and that should solve audio syncing problems.
Well thank you very much Manono, I'll keep you posted on my progress with chicken little.
Ps. I think I'll keep using divx pro 5.2.1, but if anything I'll give xvid a try, Ive heard very good things about it. Well I'll be posting soon Until then Later. -
Hey Manono
Ive easily accomplished the task of converting video through virtualdub mpeg2 with your help of course. Now as for the original task which was chicken little.
Ive run the dvd through dvddecrypter, in file mode with no file splitting.
Then the link which you provided said to run that dvd file through vobblanker, are their any specific settings which should be met. -
Oh, so you're finally starting to get some good results? That's good to hear. We've spent a lot of time together, and I guess it's finally paying off.
As for VobBlanker, open the DVD in VobBlanker and just hit Process. Hope it fixes up Chicken Little for you. Good luck. -
Yes I have, finally! I should of never jumped through so many programs.
well I ran chicken little through vob blanker, and the output through virtualdub mpeg2 and it came out un-synced, should I run the folder vobblanker did through fixvts?? -
Nevermind my previous post. I went into virtualdub mpeg2 settings, and I went to interleaving, and I changed the audio scew to 1500, which is about 1.5 seconds I believe.
Thanks to manono

Open the AVI in Media Player Classic. Right-Click the screen and go Options->Audio Switcher->check Audio Time Shift. Estimate the delay in .ms (1000 .ms=1 second) and if the sound plays before or after the lips move, or the door slams, or the gun fires (sharp sounds are easier to figure on). If you hear the gunshot after the gun fires, then you want to apply a negative delay. If you hear the sound of the gun before the gun fires, then you apply a positive delay. Set that, OK it and resume playback. Adjust until you get it right. MPC makes real time adjustments. Once you have it, write down that delay (with positive or negative), uncheck that box and close MPC. Open the AVI in VDubMod (NOT VDub, if the MP3 is VBR and not CBR), hitting "No" if it asks you a question. Set Video for Direct Stream Copy. Go Streams->Streams List->Right-Click the audio stream, go to Interleaving, leave the Preset and Interleave alone, and apply your delay from MPC in the Audio Skew Correction box. OK your way out of there, go File->Save As, give it a new name, save and test. -
Yeah, I'm sorry the conventional methods of removing RipGuard didn't ever work for you. But there's more than one way to skin a cat, and if this audio asynch problem happens again, you now know the relatively painless way to fix it. Good luck.

Thanks alot buddy, couldnt of done without your generous help.
Quick question, the audio in chicken little is coming out about a second before the video, so I would have to put it to -1000 with the minus to the left right. -

No, if the audio happens before the lips move, then you need a positive delay, or, in your example, +1000 ms. You're want to delay the audio relative to the video.
It's when the audio trails the on-screen action, such as the lips moving, that you want to give it a negative delay, which will advance the audio, or make it play earlier. -
Ok, thanks buddy. I finally got it pretty synced. I did it by measuring impact sounds, and it seems ok to me. Thank you so much for your help manono. Like I said, anytime you need some help or anything, pm me. I got your back. Until then, adios.
Best regards

To follow up for anyone else interested, I used DVDFabDecrypter 2.9.7.6 and skipped Vobblanker and went right to DVDSHRINK with no issues at all. When I attempted to use Vobblanker, it would error out when I'd goto create an ISO image with DVDSHRINK.
