I think they both test for the same stuff, but I'm looking at the Nero CD-DVD speed Disc Quality screen now and would like to know what the tests measure and what the results mean.
What are PI Errors, PI Failures, PO Failures, Jitter exactly? I did notice that the error/failure rate was higher when setting the scanning speed to the max. Since a movie plays at 1x, what speed should be used for quality scans? What results indicate that a movie will or won't play properly?
If these discs have so many errors, how can they be used to archive critical data?
Thanks,
BGC

Video is pretty tolerant of errors. Missing some info is acceptable, but not desirable. From what I understand, scanning at a lower speed will give more accurate results. I don't know that much about PI failures. Others should have better info.
