What am I doing wrong? I'm using Vegas Movie Studio-Platinum Edition. All I want to do is move to either the beginning or end of a selection.
According to the manual, which also applies to the full edition of Vegas, you make a selection by simply "clicking" on it. No problem. It is then highlighted. To move to the beginning of the selection you enter "Home" or to move to the end of the selection, you enter "End". Real simple. In fact, this is the same way that Premiere works.
However, after making a selection, when I hit Home, it moves to the beginning of the viewable timeline. Likewise, hitting End moves the cursor to the end of the viewable timeline, despite the fact that the selection is still highlighted. These are the actions, according to the manual, that are taken in the event that no selection is made.
This must be so simple. Help. Thanks.

Thanks so much. I figured it was pretty simple--embarrassingly simple.
Went back to the manual thinking I had misread. But no--there's no mention. Sometimes, the old saying RTFM that I've seen quite a few times on this forum doesn't apply.

You're very welcome!
BTW, all of this is in the manual under keyboard shortcuts. I think what may be confusing is when they make reference to 'selection'. There is more than one type.
In time selection, the keys are Home and End for beginning and end.
In event selection, the keys are [ and ] for beginning and end.
When you click on the video segment, or event, as you suggested above, you are using event selection.
