The specs mention Hi-8 and many other formatss, but there is no mention of Beta on the mfr.'s compatible list for this device. Is it ?
After negative results with the Sima CT-2 (apparently has no tbc function at all -- not sure just WHAT it actually does, if it does anything), I'm about to revisit this issue. The problem is random, quick speed changes or jumps on Beta --> DVD xfers. Maybe this is what is meant by "jitter", tho' that is not the word I would choose to describe it. I'm willing to spring for the Datavideo, provided it can really fix the problem.
At the same time, I'm wondering if this is largely a problem for certain standalone DVD players and not for others, due to how well they cope with or overlook timing errors. The transferred-DVD playback problem is mostly evident on one particular player, and not seen on the Pioneer 520H that recorded it.

TBC-1000 deals with signals, not tape formats. The video is NTSC, the end.
