  1. I have a Terrapin VCD recorder which I like because it is easy to use and I can edit my programs easily on the computer using VCD cutter. I am however not that happy with the quality of the recording.

What I am interested in is finding a capture card that I can use easily to record TV shows and then edit them with the computer without alot of time and effort. I would like
something that is better quality than the terrapin recordings. I have a Pentium III 650 computer.
I would like to keep the purchase price under $400.00, since I hope to recoup much of my cost by selling the Terrapin.

Any Ideas for a Good Card that falls in my price range that gives quality and ease of use?

    Hi, quin89!
You'll obtain the best of quality and ease of use with the PV233 mpeg1 capture card. You can buy it at Akira Computers for $115.00. It has a TV tuner and captures directly to vcd among other mpeg1 formats, but you have to make some adjustments to the registry in order to achieve the best quality. Go to the skittelsen's site and you'll find all the info and files for automatically adjusting the registry, as well as a link to Akira Computers site. Skittelsen's url is:

    Good Luck!
