I was copying movies, and one of the movies says that it is too large, just by a bit, but it won't burn onto a dvd. I have dvd shrink and decryter, and use nero for burning. I use the dvd 5's and I'm not sure how to shrink it so that it will work. Any help is appreciated!

The first thing I do is dump the extra subtitles and languages that I don't use. Then I save only the AC3 5.1 audio. The other audio formats you don't really need. You gain a little there. Next is the extras. Using analysis helps make the most use of what you have left.

The problem is that if it's really too large for Shrink to make it fit with the default settings and you Shrink it even smaller, the quality will quickly begin to suffer. If you don't care, you can run it through Shrink a second time. That's the easiest solution.

Better is to split it to two disks or use a program like DVD Rebuilder to re-encode it. Shrink just transcodes, which is another way a saying it just throws away parts of the video that it thinks you won't miss.
