Hey guys back on topic please!!!

I am tempted by the iriver h10. Preferably the 5gb model. I've seen it under $100 on ebay at the stores or refurbished.

    Anyone like the irivers??

I just saw a gateway photo jukebox gmc 4gb model for $85 on ebay (buy it now). It is napster and yahoo compatible. There are several available and I would be tempted. The size is right and the capacity is about what I would like.

How are the reviews on the photo jukebox??? I could care less about the photo ability but the capacity is good.

I would go iPod.....I love mine and use it everyday for hours...
OR Creative, if you really don't want to go the iPod route...

I would suggest to stay away from SanDisk, iRiver, and all those other cheap crappy players though...you get what you pay for....and most of those cheap players are no good and don't let anyone tell you otherwise...

Here's a cool invention that should be made. An iPod with an SD or CF or and other type of slot on it. PLUS, have a Windows accepted software that will convert any file to play on the iPod using the flash media. And when the Flash Media is installed on the iPod, you can internally transfer the files. I know with a docking device there's really no need for that, but what if you left you iPod at school or work and you flash media is on your keychain. You could upload a few songs to it, take it to work and jam without worry.

Hey thanks for the link faustus. Too bad they're out of stock

I decided I'm going to downscale a little. I was trying for the 4 and 5gb flash players on ebay but I kept losing the bids. I'm gonna shoot for a 512mb or 256mb model with a sd card slot. I have a 256 and 512 sd cards so I can do pretty good. Plus I want to keep it under a $100.

What is this for? You can do WMA files on a MUVO, and most of the time, they can compress down to 1MB for a 3-min song. Granted, it won't sound as great in a car or home stereo, but it'll be just fine with earbuds or headphones.

It's for work. I'm using unpowered speakers and usually have it pretty quiet. I already have it compressed to mp3pro 64kpbs and it sounds just fine.

Well I went to bestbuy and bought a creative zen nano 512mb mp3 player. Looked great and had a mic for recording and stuff.

BUT it wasn't on the yahoo subscription list!!! It would play purchased music but not subscription music. So I went and returned it.

I ended up spending a little more and bought the 1gb iriver t30 model. it has line in recording as well as voice recording - no fm radio but thats ok with me.

I got it working and everything but it still won't play the yahoo subscription files!!! I did upgrade to the yahoo to go plan. Does it take awhile for the files to update to the change in service? Do I need to do something to tell the yahoo player that I now have to go? I did read in one of the yahoo faqs that some companies prohibit using songs on a portable device. But I've tried this on at least six different songs from different artists and none will transfer to the iriver.

What am I doing wrong? They can't all be blocked from going to the portable????

The quality does some just fine. I'm glad I stepped up to the 1gb model. A little more breathing room. For $50 more I could have gotten a samsung model with a expandle micro-sd card slot but I only have standard sd cards so that wasn't worth jumping up another price range and have to buy more cards for extra space.

So hopefully I can get these subscription songs transfered. That was the main reason I wanted to buy a new mp3 player.

Nope zen nano isn't on any of the subscription lists that I can tell.

I finally got the iriver working with the yahoo subscription files! I ended up reinstalling the yahoo software. I think it might have something to do with the fact I have two yahoo accounts. It must have been reading that as seperate active players and refused to transfer to the iriver. I reinstalled it and it was reset and I was able to transfer the songs perfectly!!!!

Man I love this. Now I can do mp3 or wma and do the subscription files. Plus its a 1gb model so I have plenty of space for my needs

    I'm happy

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions.

Well I love the iriver! My first daily run with it was great.

It was so small it was able to sit on my keyboard!

The quality was excellent and the functioality was great. Now I'm downloading some more albums through yahoo music. Coldplay's XY and REM's Automatic for the People.
