hi everyone im having troubles with these 2 shows
now ive converted heaps of files before but these 2 are the only ones giving me problems
these are the steps i took (from vcd to dvd)
i put the vcd into the drive and went to mpegav and got the avseq01.DAT file and dragged it to my hard drive then i renamed it to file.mpg and viewed it with windows media player and it played great then i used goldwave to extract the wav from the file so i can feed them in seperately into tmpgenc
so i open tmpgenc and used the cbr mp2 templete opened the video and opened the wav file and started converting then after that was completed i opened tmpgenc dvd author and created chapters but the when it reached the 39min mark all the frames were the same (like the picture was paused) and this happened from 39 mins to 1hr which is the end of the show
and it happened to the other show as well but from the 46min mark to the end
is there a way to get this to work? as the original source (vcd) plays fine through the whole show

Your method is not ideal. You should properly extract the mpeg and put it straight to dvd without re-encoding for best results.

hi mate thanx for the info i tryed ur way for 1 of the vcd discs and i get to 48% of extraction with iso buster and it says cannot read i try retry but still
i got this file on my harddrive before using isobuster also but i didnt filter the file i just extracted it all and renamed it to mpg when i got it to my harddrive (played good as mpg) but not after i encoded it
is there another way? should i try it again put choose the ignore error instead? -

There's a bad spot in your video at the point of stoppage that is causing this problem. You'll either have to find the exact frame that is bad and remove with an editor such as MPEG2VCR or you could try the shareware SVCD2DVD program. I used SVCD2DVD to successfully convert a VCD to DVD that had a similar problem to yours. There was something wrong in the video after I ripped it from the VCD and every program I used on it died until I used SVCD2DVD.

You could also try VCDGear to get the mpg out of a VCD

jman98 is it demo v2.1? i have that and tryed it but somehow it only makes a 700meg vob file and only plays for 16mins and the original source is 700meg (74mins) are there any other good programs?
yeah it migh tbe a section that has bad timestamp as thats what it said when i opened it up with vdub how can i tell the error sections though? i know 1 but might be many after it
