    Hi,.
Just want to know, is there any way I can add a avi player such as media player classic to a dvd video disc, so that when I put the disc into the dvd player, I can load media player and play avi files without having to convert them into dvd format??

    Basically something like this...

Autorun media player classic on dvd disc, browse to avi file on same disc and play.

Any help on this topic would be great!

  2. Did you mean standalone DVD player connected to TV Set? If so No.

If you mean a DVD Player in the computer?

Yeah I meant standalone - can't believe no ones come up with a method to do this yet? Surely a self running program would work? Odd.

Does your standalone run windows? Why not? Once you answer that I think you will see the solution to your question.

While ROF's answer is a bit on the rough side, I think he got the point across.

  7. DVD Players do not run an operating system like you think of an operating system. They run a dedicated program that is standalone and has no way to run anything else.

How come your microwave or VCR can't load a self running program? Same reason it isn't built in to them to do that. They all have a microprocessor.
