    Hi,

I have completed a project in Adobe Premiere Elements 2 which contained raw DV .avis which I had captured.

I now wish to use this edited footage in .mov Quicktime format.

However, when I export to this file format, and to WMV for that matter, the resultant video of the rendering, when played, is not sharp and any movement in the clip is fuzzy, i.e. lines appear around the moving limb.

I have gone to advanced and tried an alternative codec, the Apple PAL DV and despite it taking longer to render, it is still fuzzy.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks.

you must deinterlace it or lower the output size to 352x240 to get rid of the lines, see www.100fps.com

and for sharper and better image quality you can try use higher bitrate.

So will this be done in Premiere?

I switched the field order to Progressive Scan, presuming this would achieve deinterlacing - but know luck.

I have changed the codec the file is being encoded one of the other codecs, and this removes bluriness.

However, the file size is massive - 1 Gig.

So, the question now is, what codec should be used for Apple quicktime files and with what resolution for a interactive application being made in Macromedia Director and stored on DVD and also maybe the web - still in Adobe Premiere?

Strange...I was under the impression that exporting to wmv or mov auto-deinterlaced for the web. Perhaps you're deinterlacing twice? 320x240 is a good size for the internet. Double-check your size.
