Best software for capture or recording from survalience device

Im about to put wirless cameras in two places in my home and wanted to know which is the best software for this???? i want the devices to only record when it senses movement, is this in the device, software or both????

Webcam XP can record using a motion sensor if the camera is compatible.

With this: www.gotchanow.com it's in the software. I've found it works well.

And the "Cinepak Codec by Radius", to me, gives the best file size vs image quality. I use a Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 webcam.
