  1. Has anyone heard of or purchased from them? I'm thinking about buying this http://www.dak.com/reviews/2020story78.cfm?Ref=OV&PM=78a&Srh=78_rpm_record_player and wanted to find out if they are a reputable company to deal with first.

I used to buy a lot of stuff from him

Then his business started to go down and he
asked all of customers to buy just one item
from him to keep him in business. I think he
went out of business but re-opened a few years
    ago.

I never had any problems with his stuff. The most
popular item was the BSR equalizer that he sold. I
love that thing! Still have it! Also like the remote
    control watch!

I don't think you'll have any problems with Drew, but
it never hurts to Google to see what other people think.

Your link to his web page reminds me of his old catalogs!
Everything was described with details and excitement. I wish
I still had one of his old catalogs to post a pic, but
all I have is a book of bread recipes from him!

If you order that let us know how things work out.

<-------------You could also check the TOOLS section
on the left. You might even find some free software
that would work. Goldwave might be able to change the
    speed of a recording.

edit... Here is another program that might do the same thing
    http://www.acoustica.com/ "Spin It Again"

It is $35 and is supposed to be able to change the 78 speed like
    the DAK software.

Thanks for the info. If I do purchase I'll let you know how it works. I will check the tool section before I decide. My mom has a lot of 78 records and I would like to put on cd for her. She has a record player that plays 78's but it only has a built in speaker and trying to find a low price 3 speed turntable is next to impossible.

I added an edit to my post about "Spin It Again" so you might want to check that out too!
A man walked into his son's room and said..."Son, that will cause blindness."
The boy said, "Dad, I'm over here."

Years ago, when everyone was upgrading to 'expensive' 56k modems, I chose to cheap out and buy a discontinued 28.8k modem from DAK. It worked fine.
