    I have ATI Tv Wonder card, and I capture all my stuff in mpg format. So once I have it there, what program(s) do I best use to compress the file to get it to its smallest size but still retain good video quality

    Wouldnt it be better to capture as a lossless AVI and then encode to mpg only once? I think that may give you a slighty better quality end product. I am only saying this as a thought, not fact. I just think that the double mpg encoding a video is not as good as a single encode.
    Am I right dumwaldo?
