Hi i was hoping someone could help please,
I have just burnt an avi file to dvd using toast7 and played it back on my DVD PLAYER (Toshiba SD-33VL) the picture is fine but the audio is badly scrambled with hardly any sound.
When i play it back on my mac using VLC the audio is good aswell as the picture. I'm using Sony DVD -R accucore. Ive been told it might be the dvd player or the dvd-r, just wondering what i should do?,any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to our forums.

VLC has it's own codecs and can play about anything, so not a good indicator of DVD compliancy. What is the format of the converted audio? You might want to study 'What is' DVD to the upper left. <<<<<< This will give you the compliant DVD spec, including audio.

And you would get better answers to Mac related questions in our Mac forum. Moving you.

You probably need DIVX Doctor. See below:

or simply, when using VLC, try going to WINDOW-->Info,
and see what it tells you about the audio stream?

if it tells you it is anything other than AIFF, MP3 or AC3
audio, chances are you will need to try and convert the audio
( along with the whole video file) using QT Pro, or you can use
a program like MPEGStreamclip, as DIVX Doctor II might not
be able to handle weird audio
( heck, it dumps AC3 audio tracks, so what does that say?)

Anyhow, post back what VLC says, and we'll be glad to help...

Thanks for the reply's, When i play the movie in VLC the info says it's stream 1&2 codec is mpgv and type is video and stream 3 codec is a52 and type audio. The discs i'm using are sony dvd-r accucore. Before i use any other software i thought i'd check first to read your responses.
Next mac topic i post will be in the mac forum (sorry). Thanks.
