    Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me out. I need to create a menu for a DVD and was wondering if someone could recommend any good software? I have photoshop, but I was hoping doing something like iDVD does on a PC.

    Thanks

Oh and I forgot to say the files are IFO, BUP and VOB, so I don't need any conversion from avi or anything, just a tool to author them and create a nice menu. Thanks

What you have is already authored, even if it doesn't have a menu.

Simple to use - tmpgenc dvd author. somewhat limited in templates and styles. relatively cheap

More complex - DVD Workshop 2. More freedom, much more powerful, much more expensive

Complex - DVD Lab Pro. Steeper learning curve, cheaper than DWS2. Lots of freedom.

I don't of anything that follows the iDVD route for windows, but look at DWS2. You can get demos for all three, although DWS2's demo is pretty knobbled, whereas the others are fully functioning.

Thanks so much for your help. I tried Ulead first, but I find it rather clumsy to work with and it wouldn't do what I needed it to do. So I ended up downloading DVD lab Pro which seems to be exactly what I need. I got one problem though and I can't figure it out. I've created the menu, added and linked the movies and then compiled the DVD. When I use the simuation in the menu it works and the menu is also set on 'inf' for duration, but when I compile the files and then try to play them from my harddisk, the menu only appears for a second or so and then the it stops. Anyone know why or what to do?

    Thanks!

If you burn it to a rw dvd and put it into your dvdplayer or dvd-rom it should be fine. When I create menus and then play the dvd in windvd from my harddrive samething happens to me. If I burn it to a dvd it is 100% fine.

Thanks so much! I did burn it and as you suggested it worked without a problem.
