hi, is pal much better than ntsc cos it does have 20%more lines, people say dont worry about it but will it have a problem being up-converted

p.s, how well do the new upconverters work on the hd/blu ray players, are they better than the ones out now or are they just added feature

plus ive heard that once the source is bad u carnt get it better, so how do i get an upconverter for my computer mpegs that are only good when original size (but thats like tiny when i want fullscreen

Yes, PAL is much, much better

You can polish a turd, and it might make it shinier - but in the end it's still a turd after all.

If you want better quality, DL a better source.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I live in PAL land and I can tell you both from my own personal experience as well as speaking for the vast numbers here that the mere mention of two possible frame rates, IVTCs, pulldowns, etc etc shows unequivocally to me that having one standard is much much better (read: easier to manipulate/convert).
    If in doubt, Google it.

Although in theory PAL should be better, in practice it doesn't always work out that way. Plus, with PAL you'll get the audio pitched a semi-tone higher.
