  1. hey. to all you guys who run win xp where did you guys get your ASPI adapter/layer? i read that xp doesnt come with ASPI and i e-mailed sefy and he sent me what i needed. i installed the ASPI. however when i open smart ripper the dialog still pops up saying that no ASPI adapter found. it then starts analyzing the IFO files but ALWAYS freezes in the process. does this happen to anyone else using XP? any help would be appreciated

moreover, i tried using DVD2SVCD prog and CCE 2.05 to rip the dvd. everything went finr until it began riping and then an error popped up: I/O ERROR 23. some guy told me to get forceaspi and i did. i tried it after and the same error still came up. any suggestions would really help

    thanx 4 your help

  2. Get nero (www.ahead.de), install, do a search for 'wnaspi32.dll' copy it to your \windows\system32\ dir.

    This will work.

  5. It depends on your OS and what hardware you're trying to get to work properly. The two most popular CD burners Easy CD and Nero can manfunction if you aren't careful. See the cautions on the second link if you have WIN ME, WIN 2000 or XP.

I run Windows XP Pro and never had to install an aspi layer, could be because I installed nero 5.5 at the same time I installed XP. All programs requiring an aspi layer have worked fine under XP.

Ahah! SO this is why I never had to install ASPI on my first (fatal) XP install! NERO!

This time I did have to use the 2nd file on that list (aspi32.exe) , the file is fairly old, but it works perfectly on 2000 and XP. Solved all my problems.
