You might take a look at lordsmurf's site for ATI capturing info: http://digitalfaq.com/

This sounds like the same problem as https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1322587#1322587 Have you tried that solution again?

  5. software:
i tried to capture using ulead video studio and ati TV.

    settingss:
capture to PAL B (my default) @ DVD resoultion.

ati TV doesnt give any detail while Ulead says that there is no input signal or signal unclear.
i will only be able to hear the sound but no pictures.

I also have ATI 9200 and it can not capture - it is video (VGA) card.
Do you have ViVo version of this card or ATI All in wonder series?
If not what are you doing is connecting the card's video out to the VCR's video out - nothing will be captured of coarse. And sound is separate anyway...
More details on your part are needed as noted - brand, model, connections you did - everything!

  7. i have an all-in-wonder version of the card and i have used it several times to capture videos from vcr.

what i did was connecting my camcorder which has an AV OUT to my ati card through the connection box( ati famous purple AV and S-Video box).
