I am using studio 10 to edit video clips. When I play the avi file in WMP it plays fine and the audio is spot on. However when I play it in Studio 10 the audio seems to be out of synch. I tried redetecting scenes in case this was the problem but it didnt help.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

just to add I am captruing in avi format using the PICVideo M-JPEG codecs.

However I set the audio by mistake to Mpeg layer 3 44100khz 192kbs.

As I said the file plays fine in windows media player but when I open it in Studio 10 the audio seems to start of in synch and then goes out of synch by the end of the clip.

Could this be due to the audio settings I set?

Audio should be 48hz. When you encode the avi, change the options to change it to 48hz during the encoding. Then it should be in sync.

What would you suggest I use to encode the audio to 48hz?Pinnacle doesnt allow me to change this when encoding to wmv so I was going to convert the avi file first then open it again in studio 10.

Okay the original file is in synch no problems in vdubmod or wmp. But is out in Studio 10.
So I used vdubmod to strip the audio into a wav file which I then resampled at 48000 hz in goldwave. I then put that audio back into the original avi in vdubmod and the audio is out of synch in both vdubmod and wmp.

What is going on with this I really need to get this audio right. It sems to be okay at the start of the clip and gets worse as the clip plays.

Okay it appears that with the above method the audio is out in wmp or vdubmod but is actually in synch in Studio 10. Whereas the original fine is in synch in vdubmod or wmp but out in Studio 10.

Whats going in with that? How do you explain that one?

Studio 10 seems to be very low on a favorites list here so I'm afraid not too many will be able to help. Try Google for Studio 10 audio sync issues or check Pinnacle support site (and forum) for suggestions.
