Hi I just recorded a vhs tape to my computer using Nero Vision and when i played it back the audio was out of sync by about 3 or 4 seconds. There were no dropped frames. Can anyone resolve this problem??

First, I would recommend using HuffyUV, VirtualVCR, or a number of other capture softwares, over Nero. Are you capturing to yhe same HD that contains your OS and software, or are you capturing to a secondary HD which has been freshly defragged. Make sure you disable ant antivirus software, while capturing. What are you using as you capture device (usb, firewire, component).

Yes I am capturing to same hard drive as OS, which has been freshly defragged. The hardrive doesnt seem t be overworking while capturing (no dropped frames..)

    Anti virus software was disabled

My capture device is the video in connector on my ATI graphics card (composite, although I could use s-video..)

I'll go try huffYUV and Virtual VCR now..

    EDIT:

Just tried VirtualVCR with HuffYUV codec and the capture came out a bit jumpy... So I'm trying VirtualDub with the HuffYUV codec and its working out ok so far...

Somewhere in the options or properties (in the capture software), there should be an option where you select your fps and mhz for your video and audio. Make sure your audio is set to 48hz. You really need a second hard drive for nothing but storage, file transfer, etc... Using a single hd is not recommended for video capture/transfer. There are hundreds of posts on this forum, concerning sync issues. You might try searching and seeing if you can find a situation similar to yours (ATI card) capturing, and see what they did.
