    I know Blend modes can be done in Photoshop & After effects, is it possible in Vegas?

    Yes. Place the two tracks one above the other, with the background track below the overlay. One the overlay track, click on the Compositing Mode button and select a blend mode from the drop down list.

    where is this? i'm having trouble finding the Compositing Mode Button
