  1. I need these three (simple) questions answered using VirtualDubMod
    1. I want to 'Fast recompress' my video in VirtualDubMod and save only the video file..
    2. Then I need to know how to mux this video file with an MP3 audio file i have using VDM
    3. I need to also add some skew to the audio while muxing.

    1. In streams, double click on the existing audio to disable.
    2. In streams, add the new audio.
    3. In the interleave settings, use the skew correction setting.

    1. Streams-> Stream List. Select the audio stream and click disable. Now save the video and it should be audio free.

    2. Streams -> Stream List. Click Add and select your audio file.

    3. While still in the streams list, right-click the audio stream and select Interleaving. The lower half of the dialogue that opens is for adjusting skew.

    Snap !

Once you have added your audio, you can save using Direct Stream Copy in both audio and video.

  5. For some reason,
The Audio I wish to add (which is in MP3 format) is saying is not valid while trying to add. This MP3 was formed by me in VDM while using 'DEMUX' option. Don'tget it..
    Why's this happening?
    Should I save as WAV??

Is it VBR MP3 ? VDM doesn't like VBR MP3. Try converting it to CBR MP3 instead.

If the audio was in an AVI to begin with, you could save it out from VDM by selecting CBR MP3 as the output compression. Otherwise something like audacity should do it.

VDM has no problems with VBR mp3 here. Should just pop up a warning when you add it asking if you would like to keep the VBR header or not (same as when you open an avi containing VBR audio).

  11. It said whilst adding ' xxxx.mp3 doesn't seem to be a valid MPEG audio file! '

Assumed you were adding to an avi file. Mpeg probably needs wav (PCM) or mpeg1-layer2 or AC3 audio.
