New dvd player with HDMI???? help

i geuss im just sheltered or just dont get out alot as ive never heard of any good imported dvd's????

That is why I provided a list (complete with links) to various on-line websites that sell import DVD releases so you can get an idea of the stuff that is out there.

The price you quoted earlier for the SONY was very low ... something like $70 cheaper than the OPPO ... but considering the OPPO comes with a DVI 2 DVI cable and a DVI 2 HDMI cable ... well ... that very nearly makes up the price difference.

Listen it boils down to you being happy with the purchase. Not I or anyone else.

Having said that the OPPO is one of the highest rated DVD players on the market now and has many capabilities that the SONY lacks. It is very nearly a clear cut winner other than you seem to be "stuck" on this HDCP HDMI "kick" which I have tried to point out makes no difference.

That's about all I can think of saying so best of luck with whatever you decide to purchase.
