  1. I have succesfully ripped several movies from DVD to SVCD and made perfect SVCD's I have tried now 3 different times to rip and encode "Apocalypse Now (redux)" the rip go's perfect, the audio file is there and is the same as all other rips I have done, the problem is when I finish with the encoding and burn to CD there is NO AUDIO ? I know the audio was ripped because I can open the audio file itself in QuickTime Player and hear it perfectly (Windows Media Player wont open the audio- claims the buffer is too small? but QuickTime works fine) This is a LARGE file when finished requiring 3 CDR's to store the movie, each file being roughly 670 Mb. What could the problem be ? Individual parts will open in Windows Media Player with no audio, and QuickTime player will NOT show the video (no mpeg2 support) let me know what you think ?

  2. Phreakster, i've had same problems dealing with 3+ hr movies (i.e. apocalypse now redux, titanic, green mile, etc.) the problem is if windows media player can't play the .wav file, then tmpgenc won't be able to use it. wut i did was to split the .vob files into 2 sections (i.e. part 1 and part 2). then i encoded the 2 parts as separate movies. the .wav extracted from each part should be small enough for media player and tmpgenc to handle.

also, 3 hr 20 min movie on 3 discs? how's the quality.....and wut bitrate did you use? i had to use 5 discs to get the usual SVCD (near DVD) quality for that movie.
