I swear, Ive tried it all. For the last several months, Ive tried to convert my DirecTivo MPEG2 files to Divx/MP3, and I have had horrible success. I cannot get the A/V sync right. Ive done it all, VDubMod, Lame, AVS files, you name it, If fiddled with it.

But AutoGK does it perfect every time. Sigh. I feel like such a looser.

One of the reasons I was trying to figure out my own process is because I wanted to be able to specify the HEIGHT and WIDTH, which AGK doesnt allow. So, Ill set the fixed width to 640 so the resulting output is VGA (640X480) [As some may know, DirecTivo MPEGs are 480X480], then if I want the same show on my PocketPC, Ill just VDubMod it with stream copy audio, and filter video to QVGA.

Anyway, AGK is working. My Philips 640 is playing them fine. Guess I should really be happy, aye?

Maybe study the logs and/or the AVS files AutoGK creates (stopping a conversion just after it starts), and see if there's any hidden tips in there ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

I installed AGKPal(=google) (AGK tweaker) and it works pretty damn good. You can also use it to pause between stages and examine what is going on. I havent yet figured it all out, but Im going to try and document the process.

At any rate, if your running AGKPal, you really dont need to try to duplicate AGK with your own mods or specs... Just drop the XML file from AGKPal in the directory of your source files and whola... you can encode them to your specs!!

AGK does the absolute best job of any Ive seen, alibit slow as everything... its worth the wait!!

    HTH,
