  1. Help. What is the maximun file size the TEMPGE will convert. Tried converting a 4 gig with no luck. Tried a 2 GIG and it still would not convert the entire file. Am I doing something wrong or is there a size restriction.

    Thanks All............

When I've capture avi, I do it with Virtualdub, using multi segment. That way you can capture very long clips, and vdub cuts the avi file into 2 gig pieces, as many as needed.

Then when you load them into vdub, they merge perfectly. When I've done this, I just frameserv to tmpge, and I haven't had any problems with it..

So basically what I'm trying to say, do you capture and frameserve through virtualdub? You shoult try it otherwise.

  3. If you are using Windows 98 with FAT32, then yes, there is a file size limit of 4gig. This is the fault of the operating system, it is not the fault of TMPGenc.

Windows 2000 and XP do not have a 4gig file size limit if you use their NTFS file system. I moved up to Win XP from Win 98 to get away from that 4gig limit, and I must say, it was worth the upgrade to have the convenience of working with one large file instead of a bunch of chopped-up 4gig sections.
