    I've been converting all my .avi anime just fine with tmpge but I have about 4 series that it won't open at all. I get the error message ".....file.avi cannot open or unsupported." It says divx4 in the file name so could that be why? Everything checks out in Gspot and Vdub. The videos are compressed with divx pro tm 5.2. I even tried re-encoding to divx 4.12 and audio to mpeg layer 3 224kbps but tmpge still won't open it. Any thoughts?

    AVISynth works wonders on problems like this. If you dont like coding (which I don't), also download AVSGenie. All you do is drag your AVI file into the program, then hit "file/save avs" when it loads up. You'll need both AVISynth and AVSGenie for this method to work.
